ENCE League of Legends is here

We are finally ready to reveal our League of Legends squad for the newly formed Northern League of Legends Championship, premiering June 16th.

League of Legends is ENCE’s first outing in the MOBA genre of esports and we couldn’t be more excited to start this adventure. Starting from scratch, ENCE’s General Manager Niklas “Willkey” Ojalainen was handed the task of building a competitive Finnish lineup to play against some of the best in Northern Europe.

“We at ENCE have been really passionate about FPS games for a long time. This time we are entering to a completely new genre to us MOBA and I could not be more excited. Personally I have played a lot of MOBAs in my past starting from original DOTA to Demigod and from that to LOL and finally DOTA 2. From all of these titles I have enjoyed the most League of Legends and I'm really happy to see ENCE finally having a team to represent Finland at the biggest esports title out there. ENCE is entering the summoners rift!“

- Niklas "Willkey" Ojalainen, General Manager at ENCE

Please give a warm welcome to the all new ENCE League of Legends lineup

Juho “Nille” Janhunen

Juho “Nille” Janhunen (Top)

Nille played in the EU Masters last season and is one of the more experienced players in this new ENCE lineup. Nille will be playing as a top laner in the squad, meaning at most times he will be seen playing tanks, initiators or peelers for us to help our team fighting capabilities. He is a 19 year old young prospect with a lot of hunger to develop as a player. Nille was last seen competing for Team Singularity in the Nordic Championship 2020 Spring.

"I believe our squad has the right balance of younger, hungry players and veterans with plenty of experience, meaning we have plenty of untapped potential for this and the upcoming splits."

- Arttu “Taikki” Sirkka, ENCE League of Legends team IGL.

Arttu “Taikki” Sirkka

Arttu “Taikki” Sirkka (Jungle)

Taikki is the most experienced player in the new ENCE lineup. That is why he was picked as the IGL for the squad and as a jungler he has the ability to help his teammates on all lanes when necessary. Taikki’s latest outing was playing for Nordavind competing in the Nordic Championship 2020 Spring qualifiers. He has competed in League for over 6 years already.

Anselmi “Simpli” Rintanen

Anselmi “Simpli” Rintanen (Mid)

Finland hasn’t had many mid laners hit a ground running on the international level and Simpli was one of the few in the position we considered for our lineup. He is by no means a player that has peaked yet and we are confident that with our aid he can raise to a level high enough to go head to head against the best in Europe. Simpli joins the squad having represented Finnish Nyyrikki Esports previously.

Aleksi “Kehvo” Merta

Aleksi “Kehvo” Merta (ADC)

Kehvo is the squads ADC. He will be an integral part of the team if we wish to be successful. We picked Kehvo for this specific role due to his more comprehensive competitive League background and we believe he has the skillset to help us be a top contender in the upcoming NLC Summer Split. He joins us after a short stint playing for Barrage Esports competing in the UKLC 2020 Spring.

Sebastian “Seffe” Tenn

Sebastian “Seffe” Tenn (Support)

Seffe is the least experienced in competitive esports, but he demonstrated his willingness to work during our process of fielding the team. He will be occupying the support role for the squad. His main role in our games will be assisting Kehvo’s ADC champion especially towards late game. This combination has already show cased us in our practice to be something for everyone to keep their eyes on as the season gets going.

The team has already began their preparation ahead of the NLC

All of the players, except for Anselmi “Simpli” Rintanen, join the team as free agents. We would like to extend our gratitude to Nyyrikki Esports for their seamless cooperation in the transfer of Simpli into our ranks, for an undisclosed fee. The team is currently preparing for their debut in the NLC, with our premier night being Tuesday June 16th followed directly by another game on Wednesday June 17th.

“NLC and ENCE now being a part of the Nordic League scene finally gives us the tools to put together a competitive Finnish roster. I believe our squad has the right balance of younger, hungry players and veterans with plenty of experience, meaning we have plenty of untapped potential for this and the upcoming splits. Even though the level of competition in NLC will be tough, I firmly believe we have what it takes to make it into the playoffs and have a deep run at it aswell fighting for a spot in the EU Masters.”

- Arttu “Taikki” Sirkka, ENCE League of Legends team IGL.
