Serral vs HeRoMaRinE

12.09.2020 17:15
(EEST, Helsinki, Finland)

Serral secures his spot in the Top 4 of DreamHack StarCraft 2 Masters 2020 Fall EU, and with it, a spot in the Season Finals!

Win: Ice and Chrome (1-0)

HeRoMaRinE counts on Serral to not cheese him in the early game and goes for a greedy three command center opening. The investment pays off, but the loss of eight hellions sets the Terran player massively back. The missing hellions also allow Serral to expand and spread his creep without punishment.

Both players harass each other, HeRoMaRinE with marines and medivacs, and Serral produces mutalisks to fly out into the Terran bases. Also, banelings keep rolling into the mineral lines, taking down multiple SCVs.

HeRoMaRinE puts heavy pressure on Serral with a persistent attack that keeps ongoing. Still, Serral's strong economy allows him to produce just enough reinforcements to hold on and eventually push the Terran back.

Another bio attack tries to break Serral before his +3 upgrades finish, but there's too much Zerg on the map. The swarm moves out and damages the Terran economy even further.

HeRoMaRinE has no choice but to try and push one last time, but as the attack fails, the game ends, and Serral opens the scoreboard with a 1-0!

Win: Eternal Empire (2-0)

HeRoMaRinE opens the game greedily again and sends out two reapers and hellions. He changes quickly to traditional bio production, so we see fewer hellions this time.

Serral goes for a baneling drops while HeRoMaRinE is distracted attacking the fourth of Serral. The baneling rain takes down SCVs, but simultaneously he loses a lot of banelings defending the push.

Serral moves out with ling hydra bane and kills HeRoMaRinE's fourth, inflicting enough damage to put himself to an advantageous position.

Final push with blinding clouds supporting the hydras gets the German Terran to gg out!

Loss: Ever Dream (2-1)

Another third command center build from HeRoMaRinE starts the game, and again we see reapers and hellions early on on the map.

The lings get a nice wraparound the hellion force.

Gabe goes for a big push from the center with bio and tanks and catches a good amount of mutas while marching. This attack achieves what he's been trying to do in the earlier games, and HeRoMaRinE gets the win on map three!

Win: Golden wall (3-1)

Serral goes for a fast lair and a roach warren as prepares for a Nydus attack. Gabe has no idea what's about to happen, and the Nydus emerges in the main base. Roaches and queens unload and wreak havoc in the main, taking out 22 SCV's and reinforcing roaches take down many marines. Eventually, HeRoMaRinE cleans up the forces on his bases, placing himself in a relatively good situation.

Serral goes for mutalisks to get himself into a better situation, catching SCV's here and there along with a Viking.

HeRoMaRinE goes for a big push with bio and tanks. Meanwhile, the mutas threaten the gold base once more, delaying HeRoMaRinE's big attack, giving the zerg more time to prepare and produce more banelings. The insane baneling count and mutas secure Serral the series victory!
