WCS Leipzig Coverage

Coverage 26.1.2018

This tournament marks a momentous occasion for Serral as he picks up his first ever World Championship Series victory as he takes the title in Leipzig. Having came close a number of times during last years circuit starting 2018 off by getting over that final hurdle is an incredible step.

As always Serral looked dominating in the group stages and even managed some clean sweep wins in the playoffs with victories over MaSa and Nerchio. ShoWTimE, his opponent in the Grand-Finals would prove to be the toughest fight in the tournament as he started to claw his way back after Serral managed a 3-0 lead. The Finnish Zerg managed to hold on however and closed the series out with a 4-2 victory.

This not only secures Serral his first WCS title but also a direct invite to Blizzcon for the World Championships later this year. With a big victory like this already under his belt it will be an exciting year for the young player as he now looks onward to PyeongChang for the next major.

GGWP and CONGRATS to Joona on an incredible victory.
