Recap of Assembly

Assembly Summer has come to an end and it has been an exciting event for ENCE for our teams Rainbow Six and Overwatch. We also managed to have a great time meeting fans and playing shootouts throughout the event. We would like to thank all fans that came out to support our teams and we look forward to the next event. Below you can read a recap of the eSports events for R6 and OW.

Rainbow Six Nordic Champions

ENCE were happy to have their newest roster competing in front of a home crowd for their first LAN under the organisation name. The Rainbow Six team were set to take on Swedish Mix team LAST 20 SEC for the Nordic Championship finals. Most people expected that it would be a comfortable win for the Finnish side however the game managed to turn out being a thriller three game series.

LAST 20 SEC managed to pick up the first map which meant ENCE had to win the next two maps in a row. They managed to tie up the series with an easy second map but it would turn out to be map three that the real fight would take place. Going all the way to Overtime ENCE managed to grab the victory in the end and secure the 2-1 victory. This will prove to be a good boost towards their next event which will be the Year 2 Season 2 Pro League Finals which take place in a few weeks at Gamescom.

Overwatch ESPORTSM Champions + ASUS ROG

The ENCE Overwatch team would have two chances at picking up a trophy during Assembly as they would compete in both the main ASUS ROG event and the ESPORTSM Finals. The ESPORTSM game would be played against Finnish side Team Gigantti (formerly Ninjas in Pyjamas) and was expected to be a close game. In spectacular fashion the game would go all five games with ENCE managing to edge out Gigantti 3-2 to claim the championship.

In the ASUS ROG group stages ENCE would go through in second place having picked up two expected victories and a close loss to French side Gamers Origin. The playoffs would see the team face off against Team Gigantti once again after meeting them in the ESPORTSM finals earlier that day. Unfortunately this time the result would go the other way after a close game with the series ending 1-2.

Despite finishing 3rd/4th this would be a strong showing for the Overwatch team and become a great stepping stone onto the next step for the team. We managed to get some thoughts from team captain Trickwide on the ASUS ROG event

ASUS ROG group stages went like expected 2-0 vs Rynnäkköviikset, 2-0 Boom esports and with the only group stage loss to Gamers Origin 1-2. In the semifinals we faced Team Gigantti and ultimately lost to them 1-2. We are still happy with our performance during the tournament and hope to continue our current form in the future tournaments.
