Post 18.4.2017

DreamHack is back and this time it is heading to Austin, Texas in the United States and ENCE will be there in force. We have both of our Hearthstone players competing as well as Serral in the Starcraft II tournament. The event which takes places April 28th -30th will see some of the best talent in the world come together to battle it out for big prizes as well as coveted spots at World Championships.

Below you can read more details on each of the tournaments as well as thoughts from the players as they prepare to head into one of the biggest tournaments of the year.

The Hearthstone tournament kicks off with a 280 player Swiss round with the top 16 making it through to the playoffs. The players will be competing for a prize pool of $25,000 as well as the HCT points that will help them make it to the Blizzcon World Championships. Both Kufdon and Creapz will be representing ENCE as well as the only players from Finland to make it to the tournament and both are looking forward to the tournament.

  • 9 rounds of swiss play
  • Top 16 advance to playoffs

Below you can read the thoughts of each player ahead of the event

Austin is gonna be awesome. Dreamhack is always great events: hundreds of the best players in the world battle it out under one roof, but with Austin the meta isn’t really figured out yet. Good deckbuilding and preparation should really get rewarded. On a more personal level I’m just super hyped to go to the states for the first time!

Hyped about the event that we got to Austin, it was the one event we both wanted most to go of the states Dreamhack event’s. Happy to travel to MURICA first time in my life and it’s gonna be awesome to see all the people that I saw at DH Sweden and then new people who didn’t travel there.
New expansion so new decks, overall I think my gameplay has improved a lot after last Dreamhack, and looking forward to get some real results at Austin. Preparation obviously already started and next 10 days gonna be intense preparation with Kufdon, already happy about my results after expansion with FEL games.

The second Blizzard event that ENCE will compete in is none other than Starcraft II and with the recent displays from Serral it will be an exciting event to watch. There is not only a share of $100,000 on the line but also the sought after first place ticket to Blizzcon World Championships later in the year. The Finnish star will be in for a shorter journey as the tournament setup will see 64 players start off the event but as a qualified player he will start in Round 3. The details for the tournament can be read below followed by Serrals thoughts on what lays ahead.

  • 64 players in groups of 4 players each
  • Top 2 players advance

  • 32 players groups of 4 players each
  • Top 2 players advance

  • 16 players from previous groups
  • 16  qualified players
  • 8 groups of 4 players
  • Top 2 players advance to the playoffs

I’m excited to go to Austin, I’m practising hard and hopefully it helps me achieve good results. I think, I have what it takes to win the whole thing, but it will be extremely tough with all the good foreign players out there. I’m not scared of anyone, if I can play on the level I have played for a while now.

You will be able to catch all the action live right here on www.ence.gg when the event starts next week. We hope you will cheer on all our players as they compete for glory at Dreamhack Austin.
