Semi Finals – Serral 0-3 Classic

Serral finishes 3rd/4th at IEM Katowice

It is the end of the 2017 IEM run and that means that the World Championships are here once again. Taking place in Katowice, Poland we will see the winners and challengers come together in Starcraft II for a chance at being crowned World Champion. Serral will be in attendance once again but unfortunately it will be a longer road to glory for him this time around. As he was unsuccessful during the qualifiers it means that he will have to start off in the first stages of the tournament rather than being seeded straight into the groups.

Games will be kicking off on February 26th and will run through until March 4th when a champion is crowned. Starting in the early stages of the tournament Serral will play his first game on the 26th in the knockout brackets which you can see the format of below.

  • 64 players divided into 4 double-elimination brackets.
  • Top 3 players from each bracket advance to main tournament group stage.

  • Four groups of six players played in round robin format
  • 1st place advances directly to Quarterfinals
  • 2nd & 3rd advance to the Round of 12

  • Single-elimination
  • Best of 5
  • Grand Finals – Best of 7

We hope that you cheer on Serral as he looks to continue his great start to the year and you will be able to catch all the action (or updates if no stream available) right here.
